Google Pilots ‘Soundpod By Google Pay’ For UPI Installments In India

Google is effectively dealing with a Soundbox for the India market — like the Paytm or PhonePe ones that you see at your local shop which gives a sound caution on the computerized installment that has been made, media reports said on Tuesday.

The organization has marked them as ‘Soundpod by Google Pay’ and is right now circulating it as a pilot for certain retailers in north India, including Delhi.

The Soundpods are being worked by Amazon-upheld ToneTag, the report referenced.

A Google representative told IANS in a proclamation that “We are trying different things with a few distinct answers for make computerized installments more helpful and natural for clients and dealers”.

The ‘Soundpod by Google Pay’ is joined by a QR code of a dealer connected with their Google Pay for business account.

Clients can utilize any UPI-based application to make an installment by filtering the code.

The UPI, finished 2022 on a high note, as the volume of exchanges contacted a record 7.82 billion in December, adding up to Rs 12.82 trillion, again a record high.

As per information by the Public Installments Enterprise of India (NPCI), the volume of exchanges in December was up 7.12 percent contrasted with November.
