Panasonic and DJI are rumored to be developing a focusing LiDAR system for mirrorless cameras
The turning point of the Panasonic camera focus system is near. Recently, it has been reported that Panasonic and DJI are working together to develop a LiDAR focus system like the one in the Ronin 4D camera.
As for LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), it is a focus detection system that uses the basic reflection of the laser light that is emitted and hits the object, which we have probably seen something like this in many things around us. Be it a ToF camera for distance measurement in a smartphone or an obstacle detection system in a car.
Although there is no clear information yet, if you go back to June 2022, DJI has already joined the L-mount partnership with Panasonic as one of the members. Actually, it’s probably not surprising, but really, just phase detection, bro…
